Saturday 3/21/20: I got my first good night of sleep in a couple weeks. I didn’t wake up during the night and I slept until almost 9 this morning. I had been waking up with a dry, sore throat and/or coughing. Or bad dreams. It felt so good. Today I’m without a fever, my throat is almost all better, I have no fever, and my cough is much better. And I have more energy. I stayed home all day today. Steve went to the grocery store and bigR. He was able to get most of the things on the list but no hydrogen peroxide, no TP, no kitty litter, no distilled water. There was another press conference by the president and his coronavirus team. He is a lying, blithering idiot. Every presenter has to give him two compliments before they can share their information. He is refusing to help get more tests, more ventilators, more PPE for medical professionals. And, the DOJ is asking to be able to suspend our rights! I’ll be calling my representatives on Monday!! Friday 3/20/20

Today 3/20/20: This was the last day of the first week of online teaching and learning. I wasn’t looking forward to today, even though it was the last day before spring break. Yesterday was crazy and stressful and I was afraid today would be the same or worse. I was pleasantly surprised that it was relatively quiet. My virus, whatever it is, is getting a little bit better every day. My throat still feels super dry and a little scratchy, but not as bad as before. I’m still coughing, a dry cough, but not as often. No fever today and no headache. We got a room humidifier yesterday and I think it helped a little as I slept. The number of cases of CV19 in the US are skyrocketing. Two weeks ago there were only a couple hundred cases, today there are almost 20K. The growth is exponential and I hope it’s not too late to flatten the curve. We had a spring snowstorm yesterday and got 18” of snow. No big deal, because we didn’t need to go out. Steve did snow removal and I stayed in. Tonight we go...

3/20/2020 Friday - Conifer, Colorado Background: This has happened so fast. Two weeks have completely changed life as we knew it. There was news of the coronavirus epidemic in China, and you could find information on the internet that it was spreading westward into Europe. Italy was especially hard hit. But nobody thought it would happen here. A big part of the problem is that our President, Trump, did nothing but lie about the epidemic coming here, to America. He refused to allow test kits into the country from the WHO (World Health Organization) because he wanted to suppress the information of the infection coming here, to keep his poll numbers high because he is up for re-election in November. He, and all the Republicans who support him (and they all do) are lying sacks of shit. Trump is a malignant narcissist POS. Can you tell how I feel about them? This is a time unprecedented in current history. The last pandemic, influenza, was in 1918 so there is no one living who has actual memories of this. I will be sharing my impressions, understandings, feelings, and the mundane details of my life as we go through this time. I am also creating this in google docs and will print it out to have a physical copy as well as this blog.
